• Windows 10 to get biometric sensor support with ‘Windows Hello’

    Microsoft is trying to move beyond the present 'password' system with its upcoming O.S Windows 10 by introducing a new feature called 'Windows Hello'. That’s the general term this technical giant is using to describe a set of biometric identification technologies, including facial recognition, iris scanning and fingerprint readers. These features will also be extended into the online world with Microsoft Passport thus trying to remove the need of typing a password ever again.

  • TAG Heuer, Google and Intel announce new smartwatch

    TAG Heuer, Google, and Intel have announced a partnership to launch a Swiss smartwatch powered by Intel and Android Wear for an expected price of $3,700. The collaboration was made official at Baselworld, during a press conference held on Thursday 19th March. Together, these companies will build a product that equally focusses on luxury and technology (connectivity).

  • Facebook working on a Truecaller-type app called 'PHONE'

    Facebook is reportedly testing a Truecaller like app called 'Phone', which shows information about who is calling and automatically blocks blacklisted numbers, according to a report.The update is titled “Try Phone [FB-ONLY],” hinting that the feature was meant to be tested internally by Facebook’s employees only, but has been accidently unveiled to a handful of Facebook Android users.

  • HP merges with 'Bang and Olusfen' after losing beats to Apple

    Hewlett-Packard has announced a partnership with Bang & Olufsen to bring the company's audio technology to HP's future pc's, mobile devices and headphones as it officially replaces Beats. HP stated that it would start selling personal computers with Bang and Olufsen and B&O PLAY audio technology this spring. According to a report, the Bang & Olufsen brand will appear on "HP's OMEN, ENVY, Spectre as well as select commercial PCs", while the B&O Play brand will appear on "HP Pavilion PCs, tablets and PC audio accessories".

Apple releases iOS 8.3 public preview for iPhones & iPads

Soon after the first beta of iOS 8.3, the Cupertino - California based giant Apple has opened a second pre-release beta program for its mobile software to the public.

Apple said that it hopes the released iOS 8.3 public previews of both its desktop and mobile software will help "shape" its future products. Although it is not clear what are the improvements which have been added to this update, it is expected that some goodies will be added to the 8.3 first version.

Some of the expected goodies include:
  • Speedier operation on older sets like iPhone 4s and iPhone 5, by which the complaints of slow functioning on these sets will get reduced noticeably.
  • Siri will get even more smarter and can speak languages including: Russian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and English for India. The update also will now allow the voice assistant to speak New Zealand English for the first time.
  • New emoji sets will include diversified emoticons including more diverse family units such as same-sex parents and those with multiple children. With some of these, you can change the skin color. The new offerings show up when you tap and hold the emoji. 
  • There are also new international flags and an emoji for the Apple Watch.

Apple's TestFlight beta testing service is now being turne down next month.

After acquiring TestFlight maker Burstly last year and subsequently releasing a new iTunes Connect-based beta testing service and a native app on iOS, Apple will be shutting down the old version of TestFlight on TestFlightApp.com.
TestFlight sent out an email today, indicating that the website will close in exactly one month on February 26.

Note that apps on the older version will not be ported to the new TestFlight; developers must set up their apps from scratch in iTunes Connect.
TestFlightApp.com and Apple’s TestFlight previously ran as separate services, with the new version requiring apps to go through a review for initial submissions and any build that contains significant changes to the app. Naturally, the new TestFlight is only available for iOS 8.
